So pretty much post and discuss anime games (that includes anime artstyle) that feature a character creator where you can play your own creation.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 and 2 let you create your own from several different races. The races have different abilities and stats with their own customization features.

I usually dislike anime character creators because the darkest skin tone you can get is sun tan. Freedom Wars is a great exception to this.

Anime Manga Character Design For Comics, Novels, And Games

Shinobi Striker looks great. I've never watched an episode of Naruto (will at some point) but want to play that one bad. I really hope for Xenoverse 3, though, they remove the shader that makes everyone look so shiny.

PSO was the original and best for me in this regard. I'm sure the more recent entries have above average anime character creators as well, but perhaps not the best judging by some of the examples in here.

I just wish anime games tech were evolving together with anime CGI, there is some sort of uncanny valley like feeling to anime style games (at least to me)

Code vein is probably the most advanced ive seen yet in terms of OC character customization in anime style. every other game has to be constrained into the art style of the anime it is riffing

Xenoblade Chronicles X has it... but every single character in the game looks lawful and the created ones look even worse. Easily the least appealing character design I've ever seen.

Anime style is hard to pull off, which is why the ones we have don't look too great. Although in a sense, MHW KINDA manages to look anime-ish but only slightly, almost as much as Black Desert, and neither are great examples of anime-look. The best example would be God Eater 2 I think, Code Vein looks rough as hell but I guess it's one step forward...

It's also really really difficult to find a hairstyle that's just a simple even cut. Like, it's the easiest hair style imaginable and rarely any game has it.

PSO2's customization is unmatched, but at the same time, it requires you to spend hundreds of dollars to be able to make all kinds of special outfits due to the insane hair prices and certain outfit colors being really high.

God Eater Resurrection (and presumably God Eater 2 Rage Burst) has a pretty standard character creator, but it's there. It has a surprising range of voices available.

Yep, part of the endgame for PSO2 will be farming meseta or affixing stuff to sell if you don't want to spend money. There's mini suits for Rappies and Lilipa that you can customize now, the tonakai (reindeer) too.

This is down to time and budget. For instance, at the best of times the Ultimate Ninja Storm games have animation that's just as polished if not outright better than both of those clips you just posted, (definitely a league ahead of the second clip which has way more obvious shortcuts). Imperfections in games, (like lower poly models and lighting as two examples) are due to them running in real-time compared to an offline render for a show.

I was blown away by the customization in that game coming off of nightmare troubadour, where the only customization is for your silhouette to have short, medium or long hai
